Goat Lake and Desending Out via Royal Creek

VERY STRENUOUS HIKE. Proceeded up to Goat Lake at an elevation about 5900 foot level from Camp Handy (Upper Dungeness). Continue westward and to a “saddle” where you can cross over the ridgeline and view down into the Royal Basin area. Descend the steep scree slope (about 1400’ drop straight down) intersecting the Royal Basin trail (at the Lower Meadow Campsites area just short of the Royal Lake). Follow the Royal Basin Trail out to the trailhead. RT mileage – ~12 miles Elev: – ~4000 ft? NO Dogs. (exiting out thru National Park). PLEASE CONTACT TRIP LEADER IF YOU ARE SIGNING UP.
