Explore the wonders of New Zealand by foot. In February 2024, Paul Aussendorf and Priscilla Jones spent a month in New Zealand tramping (defined as the recreational activity of going for long distance walks in rough country). They hiked 3 of the multi-day Great Walks (Abel Tasman, Routeburn/Greenstone, and Milford Tracks) and many lesser day hikes logging roughly 400 miles over the course of the month. The great walks can be done guided (supported) or self-guided (packing tents or staying in huts). See some photos of the walks and hear about their experiences.
