The PWC Presents: Beavers in Kitsap County

Brittany Gordon is a Natural Resource Coordinator in the Kitsap County Department of Community Development.  Brittany spent many years as a Habitat Biologist for WA Department of Fish and Wildlife, has worked on habitat restoration and fish passage for the Department of Transportation, and currently works on habitat protection and restoration, salmon recovery, and natural resource management at Kitsap County.  Throughout her career, Brittany has fielded many questions about beavers, worked to manage human-beaver conflicts, and helped spread the word about the importance of beavers for our ecosystem, communities, and salmon recovery. Brittany will provide an overview of beaver biology and an introduction to the many benefits beavers provide to our ecosystems, as well as some ways you can help prevent and manage beaver-human conflicts and improve protections for beavers in Washington.
