Backpack to Flapjack Lakes in Olympic National Park. This is a hard hike with a steep, rocky trail after we depart the North Fork Skokomish River trail and unmaintained, primitive way trails on Day 2. Our hard work will be rewarded with old growth forest, mountain lakes, and rugged mountain views.
Day 1: North Fork Skokomish trailhead to Flapjack Lakes, 8 miles, 3000 feet of elevation gain.
Day 2: Explore Gladys Divide, Black & White Lakes, and Smith Lake, 8 miles, 2000 feet of elevation gain, 2000 feet of elevation loss. Return to camp at Flapjack Lakes.
Day 3: Flapjack Lakes to North Fork Skokomish trailhead, 8 miles, 3000 feet of elevation loss.
I have a permit for the group site. RSVPing does not guarantee you a spot: permit fees of $16/person (or your annual ONP wilderness pass #) are due to me no later than August 8. If I haven't received funds to cover the cost of the permit, I will cancel the trip to recoup (most of) the permit cost. Contact me to arrange payment (cash, check, Zelle, Venmo).
Bring your 10 Essentials and a bear can or gear to hang your food and scented items.
