Winter Solstice is on December 21st. I'll be leading the annual hike this year on the Saturday after the solstice. Some years, the weather has been pretty nice, while other years it has been crap, so dress accordingly. This year we get to enjoy the new covered picnic shelter so I get to leave the tarp home this time. Bring a snack. I'll bring the hot coco...
A Discover Pass is required for parking at the Gold Creek trailhead.
What is the actual hike like? The hike is about 4 miles round trip and about 1000 feet of elevation gain. It takes most people somewhere between 40 minutes to an hour to reach the top.
