This hike is a NEWLIFE church initiated hike of which I am co-leading. They are inviting PWC members to join them on this outing.
Meet at Mullenix Park N Ride – 6 am. – Reason- single lane road to trailhead gets a lot of hikers from Seattle area – making parking limited.
Need to get there early to secure a parking spot.
This is a hike up to 6600 feet in elevation. some snow/ morning frost / ice are possible weather related effects that one must consider. It gets cold at these elevations at this time of year. In addition, with daylight hours waning – bring a headlamp.
A stunning blue lake, set high in a basin beneath rocky peaks, showcasing striking Mount Stuart as its backdrop. The trail to this treasure is filled with delights, both for the summer adventurer as well as for those hikers who appreciate fall colors. Views of the craggy Esmeralda Peaks, a walk through beautiful Headlight Basin plus a pretty picture of the imposing Stuart Range are just a few of the wonders along the way.
Expect an immediate 2400 climb up to Ingalls Pass – before traversing across the rim of the basin before ending at Ingalls lake. Total milage is about 10 miles.
