Overnight Hike to Mount Townsend

A revival of an old favorite! After work on July 3rd, we will head up the Little Quilcene trail to camp at the summit of Mount Townsend (2100 ft, 3.2 miles). We will watch the fireworks on the 3rd of July (sorry, no Poulsbo show). Then in the morning, we have a light breakfast and head back down to our cars, making it home in time to enjoy our 4th of July afternoon celebrations! This is often called gorilla camping and used when all you have is a short evening to get away!

FYI: We will meet up at the North Viking Way Park and Ride on the 3rd, but you can just drive to the Quilcene trailhead parking lot. Head up when you can get off work! Contact Doug Savage for any additional details.
