The Peninsula Wilderness Club is based in Kitsap County on the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State. While not technically based in Bremerton, a large majority of our members live there. Pack & Paddle was never affiliated with the Peninsula Wilderness Club, but they were local, and more than a couple of our members had stories and images printed in it's pages. Published across the water from Bremerton in Port Orchard by editor Ann Marshall, Pack & Paddle had a good run in the 1990s and was well regarded in the local hiking community. Recently, PWC member Craig Mecklenburg (who also goes by the name 'Reststep' in some circles) loaned the club his library of Pack & Paddle. We felt compelled to scan and save this local treasure for all to enjoy.
